Bunka Knife

A bunka knife is a type of Japanese kitchen knife that has a rectangular blade with a pointed tip. It is similar to a santoku knife, but usually longer and narrower. Its blade curve is a hybrid between the slightly curved one of the Santoku, made especially for vegetables, and the versatile and powerful curvature of the chef knife. A bunka knife is therefore a quite versatile tool that can be used for cutting, slicing, dicing, and mincing various foods, such as vegetables, fish, meat, and herbs. The thin and sharp blade of a bunka knife allows for precise and clean cuts, while the pointed tip is useful for delicate tasks such as scoring or trimming.
